We stopped today for a break we stood for ages at cafe to be served as staff to busy chatting to selves, food was disgusting breakfast and tikka massala never again

On 30/6/18, The family all thought it would be a great idea to pop in to this store, especially with a very long car drive in a boiling, unrelenting weather, driving down the M74 / M6 at temperatures in the car reaching 30 degrees.After we paid for a 4 pack box of cones, our 4 year old son didn't look well and I was worried that he may have had heat stroke.I then saw the indoor deserted cafe nearby, so we headed over to it with view of us having our cones and having a small break from the intense heat outside the store.I asked politely to the 2 women, "if it was okay for us to have a seat for a break and that our son is not feeling well"?One of them replied very angrily," NO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED".I felt so disgusted, that I went to customer services who didn't seem to be concerned, so I asked to see their manager.After a while he appeared and I explained everything to him. He stated that he agreed with me that an allowance could have been made and that this was "exceptional circumstances".He apologised for the way we were treated and would have a word with the 2 women in charge of the cafe.I wouldn't have treated a dog they way that we were treated.I have also been in contact with the main office at ASDA house regarding this, as this was completely disgraceful treatment.UPDATEHad done this review without reading any others and it appears that many others have had rotten experiences with the 2 women running this cafe.I can't understand why they have got away with it for so long?
Great store to shop. Friendly staff. Clean and well stocked. Good quality food at very competitive prices. Love Asda George clothing too. Really enjoying doing food and clothes shopping all in one store. I'm from Manchester and really miss Asda. Was hoping Asda would open a store in Dumfries!
