We stayed at Low Garth Cottage, situated in the quiet village of Penruddock just within the Lake District National Park.The cottage is well placed for exploring the whole area just 10 minutes drive to the market town of Penrith and 20 minutes drive to Keswick.Ullswater lake is 10 mins away.What a pleasure it was to arrive and find a cosy lounge with an open fire.Everything was warm, clean and homely, there was more space downstairs than we had expected. It blew a gale outside but inside was peaceful and calm with well-sealed quiet windows. Coming inside in mid winter with dogs was easy with a little lobby to 'hold' them in whilst they had a full clean up! Open views from the windows across countryside, a friendly pub with good food to walk to and easy parking. Fantastic to have unlimited coal for the fire.We enjoyed the light airy sunroom with a fantastic selection of birdlife and rabbits in the garden. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
