Relatively nice garden, good history behind it, would t exactly call it a Chinese garden though. Still, a lovely place to pass while walking the dogs

Now this place has to be well worth the visit
They were once over a well planted, tiered ornamental garden. I suspect vandalism and budget cuts have taken their toll over the years. They are still well maintained but lack the grandeur of previous years.
They make a nice entrance to Rickerby Park and can be a nice cool place to sit on a warm day, but are noisy beside the main road.I think they were built on the site of houses that were demolished (1930s?) due to regular flooding from the Eden
