A scenic city centre park along the banks if the sizeable River Eden. Popular with dog walkers, commuters, cyclists and runners. A public road runs through the park. There's a large cenotaph war memorial, a large suspension bridge and, tucked in a corner, a collection of large rocks each of a unique type found in Cumbria. Fishing in the river is allowed - salmon, sea trout, brown trout and coarse fish notably chubb which is known locally as a skelly. That's if the otters don't get to them first!

Rickerby Park is a public open space in Carlisle, Cumbria on the banks of the River Eden. The parkland is dotted with mature trees, beneath which cattle and sheep graze the sweet pasture grasses. A riverbank path follows the sweeping bends of the Eden and, by crossing the Memorial Bridge, you can complete a circular walk back to the city centre on the opposite bank .You could easily spend a day here with Bits Park joining it .Carlisle is so lucky to have this asset
