A small museum but an interesting collection, well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Took the family today and loved it. Staff were great and knowledgeable, they also let the kids in to a couple of the planes in the indoor display.
We went on Monday only to find the museum closed. So I had a wonder around and was intercepted by a nice man who said he was going to arrest me.It turned out it was the Chairman and he and the Membership Secretary kindly opened the museum up for my Wife and I.A wonderful place to visit and a credit to all concerned. I was particularly pleased to see the DH Chipmunk and the Jet Provost both of which I flew in when I was Civilian Instructor and Warrant Officer at 110 (City of York) Sqn ATC.Both of our 'hosts' made us very welcome and made us both a brew of tea. A wonderful sojourn. Thanks very much for your kindness and enthusiasm.I was impressed by the variety of exhibits and the shop where I bought a super T shirt.
We had a great afternoon, staff friendly and knowledgeable. We even got the opportunity to have a sit in the Vulcan along with a few other air craft. Recommended.
Lovely place to visit. Staff all really friendly and helpful. You can get up and close with the aircraft and even go in quite a few (including the Vulcan). Well worth a visit and the 6.00 entrance fee for an adult.
