Arkale Lodge is top class, I have stayed in many. Very comfortable rooms with separate en suite shower rooms not a little 'snug' squashed into a corner! Unlimited choice for breakfast. Patrick & Muriel are the most wonderful hosts, going out of their way to accommodate your every whim, their comraderie is beyond any I have experienced. My last stay I arrived at 1a.m., due to travel 'misadventure', & Muriel waited up for me with a very welcoming hot chocolate drink for myself & my driver, thank you Muriel. It's exactly as I remembered 2 years ago, really welcoming owners who go out of their way for guests. Scrupulouly clean and fab breakfast. I would definately recommend to anyone wanting a b & b in Carlisle.
